RK Srivastava was born in Bikramganj in Rohtas district of Bihar state, he has been very fond of maths since his school days. Students who are not able to pay even 1 rupee fee, they are given free education, when they succeed and start working, after that they come and give their Guru Dakshina 1 rupee to their guru.
To make students aware of self study, RK Srivastava's 12-hour continuous night classes campaign of special mathematics is very popular in the country. On the day when RK Srivastava calls the students for 12 hours continuously throughout the night to teach them the tricks of mathematics, arrangements are also made for their food. RK Srivastava's mother Aarti Devi cooks food for the children.
